PLACE: Silver Falls State Park (Evergreen Picnic Shelter, Marked E on the map)
TIME: 10 am Sabbath School, 11 am Church

We welcome you and your family to Stone Tower’s annual outdoor church worship service. Here is the info you need to know to join us:

Outdoor Church at Evergreen Shelter in Silver Falls State Park on September 6th! The Evergreen shelter (marked E on Day Use Area map) is located in the South Falls Day Use Area. From the parking lot, cross over the river on a bridge to join us at 10AM.  A short path from here will take you to the South Falls viewpoint. South Falls is a 177-foot tall waterfall, with a trail behind the lower falls. Consider discovering the park in the afternoon with a nature walk. The Trail of Ten Falls is about a 7 mile loop moderately difficult hike. Gates to the Day Use open at 7am and close at 9pm.

Parking passes are required.  Prepaid day-use parking passes are available by submitting a request on the sign up sheet, due by August 30th. Passes can also be purchased the day of, at a kiosk in the parking lot. If you would like to have a pass purchased for you in advance, see the Sign-up sheet in the foyer or use the form below.

Dog owners: Dogs are allowed to the South Falls viewpoint, but not down the Canyon Trail or Trail of Ten Falls except the Rim Trail and Upper North Falls. There is an off-leash area nearby the Evergreen Shelter and 35 miles of backcountry trails on-leash for their use.

Silver Falls State Park was a wonderful location for outdoor church last year, and so we decided to make it a full campout weekend as well as outdoor church.

If you are coming for the day, plan to stay for the day and do a little hiking to see at least some of the falls.

Parking Passes:

If you haven’t already signed up in the foyer, please help us properly prepare for parking passes! NOTE: THESE PASSES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND DATED FOR SEPT. 6, 2025 USE ONLY!

We will distribute parking passes once you arrive at the parking lot (See Map Below)

You may be interested to know that you can purchase a 12-month parking permit for $30, or a 24-month parking permit for $50 at https://store.oregonstateparks.org/.

Bathrooms:

There are both men and women restrooms located on-site with convenient wheelchair access. There are also drinking fountains and trash cans available.

Seating:

Please bring your own chairs to sit on. There are picnic tables in and around the shelter.

Food & Water:

We recommend every family bring a lunch for your own family, and some to share. There may be some families who may decide to combine their food and do a mini-potluck. Water is available at the shelter.

There are picnic tables, so those are available — but in case you may want to bring your own foldable table or picnic blanket to eat lunch on.
